She understands the nuisances of this health and social condition both personally and professionally. And, wants to change the values of corporations towards those with hearing loss for greater inclusion, equality, productivity, retention, communication, and safety. After a life-threatening accident for not hearing a warning shout from behind, she discovered a need that was not being met. Giving visibility to hearing loss and reducing stigma, so no other child or adult has to experience the pain she did not being understood with this disability.
The Hearing Friendly Symbol for safety, inclusion, visibility, and awareness was created and has evolved. She is the principal of HearCommunications, Inc - A Carlsbad Business Educational Company.
Teresa, also known as "TJ" her deaf sign name graduated from UCSD with a B.A. in Communications and is a California Board Registered Nurse.
